Foodee is a social platform for food lovers where they can share their food pictures in the US. Stop looking through restaurant reviews, find the best dishes through visual food review!
Brief
Foodee is a social platform for food lovers where they can share their food pictures. The client is aware that there are many apps like this in the market like Opensnap, MyFab5… but she wants to differentiate it by just focusing on helping the user quickly find something yummy to eat in their local area just by scanning all the photos on their feed.
Challenges
The client has only a general idea of what she wants so I have to do a lot of researches from the personas, the scenarios and use cases then work closely with her to rate the priority of each use case and break it down to a list of features. I perform an in-depth research on how other competitors are doing and their value proposition. I list all the user scenarios and check if the competitors can fullfill these user goals. Most of them don't allow the user to search for specific dish and the user has to actively search for something, mostly restaurant names.
My approach to Foodee is to make it an Instagram for food.
Feed results are sort by the latest dishes nearby at the lowest price. Filtering options are optimized for minimal input
Dish detail
The user can check the dish reviews and pin it to his collection. Some collections are premade (Been there, Wish list) so he can quickly pin it without creating new one.
Home - Stream
This is where the facility admin can review the applicants and decide who to hire. The yellow bubbles highlight the skills of that applicant that fit with the requirements. The facility can also see who is previously hired or who has countered his offer
Search flow
There are 4 kinds of users: One knows exactly what he wants to like (like pizza), one wants to find food nearby him, one just wants some suggestions for his dinner and one is curious about what’s trending. So, instead of showing one input field for the user to type the exact keyword, I add other links for Nearby, Most popular, List of categories and Trending collections. The goal is to increase the chance that user finds something interesting to him. Since it's for the US market, the user can search by their neighbourhood, not just by cities.

Restaurant detail
You can go to the restaurant page from the dish detail page. This page features all user posts and you can post a dish that you had in that restaurant here.
Collection detail
Collections are made of the dishes that you pinned. Just like Pinterest, you can also follow other’s collections
Post flow
User can always post a new dish by tapping the Camera icon at the bottom menu navigation. The 1st step is to select an existing photo in his phone gallery or take a new picture. Then he is presented with nearby restaurants based on his current location. After the restaurant is selected, he can enter the dish details (name, description, rating, price, category etc..)
My profile
The user profile stores all of user’s collections, user’s pinned posts and his connection (following and followers)
